Our history History
1914
The name HSM represents over 100 years of proven track record and experience in steel fabrication for the Civil Engineering and Oil & Gas Industry. As a pioneer HSM started in 1973 its offshore activities focusing on upstream developments. In 2002 HSM contracted the world first offshore renewables contract the 160 MW – Horns Rev A project in the Danish North Sea for Energynet.
1914 – 1967
Founded in 1914 as HCW (Hollandsche Constructie Werkplaatsen) in Leiden, a company focusing on industrial activities.
1967 – 1990
HCG, Hollandse Constructie Groep, Leiden and Schiedam, The Netherlands. In 1973 HCG started it’s first Offshore activities, Schiedam.
1990 – 2000
HSM, Hollandsche Staalbouw Maatschappij, Schiedam, The Netherlands.
2000 – 2004
HBG Steel Structures, Schiedam, The Netherlands.
2002
First Offshore Wind Substation.
2004 – 2021
HSM Steel Structures, privately owned by the Andus Group, The Netherlands.
2009 – present
HSM Offshore Energy, Schiedam, The Netherlands.
2021
HSM Offshore Energy was acquired by management and Gilde Investment.
Ambition is to grow the organisation from a yearly revenue of approx. 100 million to 175 million in the EPCIC markets of Offshore Wind, Green Hydrogen, Gas production and Carbon Capture and Storage by 2025.
Resulting in a key focus on the offshore energy mix, leveraging first mover position in the offshore energy transition.
