This strategic step, fully supported by HSM Offshore Energy’s management and shareholders, builds further on a strong foundation of collaboration. Over the years, HSM Offshore Energy and Smulders have successfully partnered on several complex offshore energy projects demonstrating our shared commitment to quality, innovation and reliability. Together, we cover the full EPCIC value chain for offshore topsides and high voltage substations, offering complementary strengths in engineering, fabrication and project delivery.

Accelerating in a growing market

The offshore renewable energy market is evolving rapidly, and so are we. With the growing scale and complexity of offshore wind projects and the emergence of new markets, financial strength and technical innovation are more important than ever. Becoming part of the Eiffage group gives HSM Offshore Energy access to an even broader network of production facilities, allowing to better serve clients and take on larger, more complex projects from monopiles, transition pieces, jackets and large offshore topsides.

Following several years of strong performance, including a record turnover approaching € 300 mln in 2024 and the expansion of our second yard in Stormpolder, HSM Offshore Energy is well-positioned to meet growing market demands. The offshore energy sector is scaling up fast not just in wind, but also in areas like carbon capture & storage and green hydrogen and this combination gives us access to greater capacity, enhanced engineering resources, and the financial strength needed to compete at the highest level.

Our facilities are located in Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and the UK. We take care of full engineering, manufacturing and systems integration projects predominantly for the offshore wind market. Smulders is the European market leader when it comes to the engineering and construction of foundations and substations for offshore wind projects. To date, we have produced more than 2,500 transition pieces, 160 jackets, 3 floating foundations, and 40 substations.
