E&I Engineer / Subcontracting coordinator – Marine Offshore

HSM Offshore is looking for a motivated and dedicated E&I Engineer to join our team in the construction of several offshore wind substations. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and coordinating E&I subcontractors, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure a safe and successful project outcome.

Job Description

As the E&I Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the full subcontracting management process for E&I activities, from contractor selection through to project completion. Working closely with multiple departments, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, planning, and safety, you will ensure smooth and efficient E&I execution. You will also serve as the primary contact for E&I subcontractors regarding safety, quality, scheduling, and budget.

As E&I engineer your role start at the beginning of the project to monitor and control the constructability of the substation in good collaboration with the Engineering partner.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering partners and project teams to discuss technical solutions, lesson learns and adjustments during the design phase.
• Monitor and control the constructability of the Substations during the design phase
• Collaborate with the Procurement department for selecting and contracting the E&I subcontractor
• Coordinate all E&I activities in the construction of the offshore wind substation.
• Manage and supervise E&I subcontractor to ensure timely, high-quality project execution.
• Monitor safety standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.
• Develop and track project schedules, progress reports, and cost controls.
• Attend FAT’s or Inspection when required
• Working together with a (team off) E&I supervisor during the construction phase
• Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders during the project

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven E&I Engineer with:
• A technical qualification at a minimum HBO level (preferably in electrical engineering or instrumentation).
• At least 5 years of experience in E&I coordination or subcontracting within the marine, offshore, or energy sectors.
• Solid knowledge of E&I processes, safety standards, and quality guidelines in the offshore sector.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors.
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
• An eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a flexible, solution-oriented mindset.
• Having technical know-how to solve and control changes and solutions during the construction in a pragmatic way.
