The job

HSM Offshore Energy is seeking a driven and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:
o Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
o Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial periods.
o Prepare consolidated financial reports and analyses.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Develop and manage annual budgets and multi-year forecasts.
o Analyze budget variances and advise management on corrective actions.
o Support departments in preparing their budgets and forecasts.
3. Internal Control and Compliance:
o Develop and implement internal control systems to minimize financial risks.
o Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as tax laws and financial reporting standards.
o Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on audit findings.
4. Cash Flow Management:
o Monitor and analyze the organization’s cash flow positions.
o Manage working capital and ensure adequate liquidity.
o Advise on investments and financing opportunities.
5. Financial Analysis and Advisory:
o Perform financial and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
o Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the organization’s financial performance.
o Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
6. Process Improvement:
o Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Completed at least a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably within a medium to large organization.
• Knowledge: Proficiency in financial reporting standards (GAAP), tax legislation, and financial regulations.
• Skills: Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
• Technology: Experience with Exact (online/Globe) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
• Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
• Personality: Proactive, results-oriented, strong communicator, and capable of working effectively in a team environment.
