The job

The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer promotes the HSM Offshore Energy Golden Rules and Life Saving Rules and ensures that these are observed by everyone working on HSM Offshore Energy sites and projects. To this occasion the HSE Officer is responsible for:

  • Providing Safety Inductions.
  • Conducting regular HSE inspections, including reporting.
  • Maintaining the HSE Action Log.
  • Monitoring of mitigating measures as the result of HSE Risk Assessments.
  • Maintaining the PtW Register.
  • Initiating, organizing and conducting HSE training and information sessions.
  • Advising Production Management and Project Teams regarding safe working practices.

You are a team player and able to motivate safe working practices.

Together with your HSE colleagues you provide assistance to Project teams and Production Management to ensure that HSE requirements are observed and incidents are prevented.

As an HSE Officer we offer you a challenging multi-sided position where you monitor the safety of all personnel working on our premises.

What we expect from you

  • Professional HSE certification, preferably MVK. Relevant HSE training is desirable e.g. regarding Permit to Work, Working at Height, Emergency Response and Scaffolding.
  • Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) as HSE Officer, preferably in the construction of offshore platforms or similar heavy industry projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices related to offshore construction. Familiar with HSE standards SCC and SCL.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Familiar with incident investigation and reporting.
  • Experience in emergency response planning and execution.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • You speak and understand Dutch and have a good command of the English language.
